Stuart Semple would like to introduce to you the latest in world changing materials from the CultureHustle lab.

Ecto is the spawn of our years of research into luminescent powder and one of the perennial favourites, the Orangiest Orange.

These two mind blowing materials have been combined for the very first time to create Ecto a highly pigmented ultra bright acrylic coating like no other.

Ecto is so bright it even glows in the dim.

In the dark it glows so bright you can read a scary story by the light it gives off.

It’s all you need to Supercharge your spooky season.

What Is It?

Unlike other glowing things, Ecto can be recharged an unlimited number of times

It glows in the dim. It’s super-high luminescence will often glow brighter than the ambient light around it.

After super-bright initial glow, will afterglow for up to a few hours, (depending on your mix of course).

Ecto has been specially formulated to mix with SUPERBASE to create a super pigmented, mega glow paint that will stick to almost anything.

Ecto also mixes amazingly into resins or polyurethane varnish.

If you want to powdercoat things with it use STICK

Ecto is Non toxic - contains no hazardous or radioactive substances.

WHERE DO YOU USE IT?

Well, you need to mix it into a paint, you have a few options

• Oil paint - just mix it straight into linseed oil
• Acrylic - mix it into an acrylic base or our SUPERBASE
• Toys / miniatures / plastic stuff and fingernails - mix it directly into a clear nail varnish
• Resin - it mixes straight in
• Exterior projects - mix into a good exterior grade polyurethane varnish from your local hardware store.

Important - You can't just mix Ecto with water like Stuart's other powder paints. It needs a binder and we've designed it to work with SUPERBASE to create a highly pigmented acrylic paint that will stick to almost anything. However you can also stir it into linseed oil to create an oil paint.

It's designed to be painted in micron thin layers

For the first time EVER it’s now possible to brush apply (or spray) a truly realistic mirror/chrome.

This challenge has baffled paint makers for decades, artists all over the world have been demanding it and our geeks have managed to crack it for everyone.

WHAT'S THE WORD?

• LOOKS JUST LIKE A REAL MIRROR / CHROME
• INCREDIBLE COVERAGE - one bottle (properly applied) can cover 8ft square.
• INCREDIBLE PIGMENT NEVER SEEN BEFORE - our paintmakers put this potion through 31 different processes to get it perfect for you!
• MICROSCOPIC PARTICLE TECHNOLOGY - the pigment itself is less than half the size of a red blood cell. This means it flows like nothing else!

HOW TO USE AND THE SAFETY BIT

Unlike our other materials this paint is solvent-based so please use it in a well-ventilated area.

• Clean your brushes with white spirit/turps etc not with water!
• Use a good soft synthetic brush.
• Dip your brush in a tiny bit to start, a little goes a very long way.
• The effect works best with thinly build up layers on a dark undercoat.
• Seal porous surfaces first (PVA is good)
• You can spray it with an airbrush BUT make sure you have a mask on - the fumes aren’t friendly!
• It doesn't dry quite the same as the paints you're used to - make sure to leave it to dry for 24 hours in a cool (not cold), well-ventilated area, for 24 hours before touching it
• Don't apply this paint thickly, the layers need to be micron thin to create a mirror finish.
• You shouldn't need a top coat which may dull the finish, it dries with it's own protective enapsulation.
• Keep it away from the kids and animals
• Don't get it in your eyes!
• & Obviously don’t leave it on your skin, drink it, eat it.
• The paint bottle will appear oversize and not filled to the top - don't worry - it's not evaporated! This is to keep the liquid safe when it travels and to stop leaks and spills.

TOP TIP: It's best painted over a light colour so put down a layer of white first - we recommend our saint potion (as it's really really good white paint)

• Mix 1 part lit powder to 1.5 parts SUPERBASE
• We recommend 3 x 150ml bottles of SUPERBASE is enough per 1 x 300g bag of Big Lit
• If you’re having trouble try adding a tiny amount of water to lit first
• Add more powder to achieve desired consistency
• (Feel free to experiment with ratios depending on your application)
• Optional - feel free to add a clearcoat or varnish to protect your final work
• Charge up with a light source.

Safety bit:

Don't eat it, rub it in your eyes, get it too near your mouth. Probably best not to let kids play with it without an adult helping.
