PLACEBO X STUART SEMPLE

Placebo × Stuart Semple, 2022

Shout

Stuart made a record sleeve and a brand new colour with the band.

The sleeve

Stuart's artwork Shout became the cover of Placebo's double A-side 7 inch, Shout / Running Up That Hill.

He designed the whole thing, down to the pull-out foiled sleeve. A signed edition of 250 went out alongside it.

Purple, black, blue

PLACEBO paint shifting colour as the light moves

The band and Stuart made an entirely new colour, called PLACEBO, out of his lifelong love of their music.

It changes in front of your eyes. Deep purple, through black, into a shimmering blue, depending on the light.

Hand made in small batches in Stuart's studio, with special pigments held in Lovetone medium, and packed in a box he designed to be kept.
