The Blackest Black Paint
If you found this page looking for Black 3.0, you're in the right place. Black 3.0 was the world's first ultra-matte, light-trapping acrylic paint made by artists for artists. It started something. And then we made it even better.
Black 3.0 was born out of Stuart Semple's response to Anish Kapoor's exclusive grip on Vantablack. The idea was simple: the blackest, flattest, most light-absorbing paint in the world should be available to every artist, not locked away. Black 3.0 proved it was possible. Black 4.0 proved it could go further.
This listing now carries Black 4.0, the direct evolution of that original formula. Same spirit, same obsession, same community. Just blacker, flatter, and more velvety than anything that came before it.
“It’s next level. Vantablack got nothing on this.”
@thewonderprojekt
“Got to say 4.0 was a dream to paint with, went down so smooth and dried quickly.”
@thecatasmodeus
“The 4.0 has great coverage and such a smooth consistency.”
@brunskiwaa
How to use it
Use a soft brush and work in thin layers, letting each coat dry fully before adding the next. A little goes a long way. Seal porous surfaces with a 25% PVA and 75% water mix first, and prime anything shiny with a primer or a coat of Black 2.0. Works at room temperature, thins with water, and can be airbrushed. The flatter and more even your application, the deeper the void.
Absorbs at least 99% of light. No vacuum chambers, no ego, no exclusivity.
