We found something weird. Not everything interesting is invented on purpose. While developing a completely plant-based material system, we stumbled across something we weren't expecting.
It started as an ordinary blue powder. Then we added water. Instead of becoming paint, it became something else entirely. Part slime, part foam, part latex, part sculpture, part rubber. Honestly, we're still figuring it out.
Change the amount of water and it completely changes character. A few drops creates a dense sculptural putty. Keep adding and it becomes soft and stretchy. Keep going and it'll happily absorb close to 1 litre of water into just 100g of powder. Mix it with SUPERBASE instead of water and it starts doing entirely different things again.
We're convinced there's something special here. The problem is, we don't yet know what. So before we commit to manufacturing tonnes of it, we'd rather hand it to artists. People who'll try things we'd never think of. This is where you come in.
Inside this jar is 100g of experimental plant-based powder. No instructions. No rules. No right answer. Just add water. Or try SUPERBASE. Paint it, cast it, throw it, bounce it, build with it, destroy it. See what happens. Then tell us.
How to use it
There's no fixed method. Add a few drops of water for a dense putty, keep adding for a gloopy goo, or go all the way to a near-liquid state. Swap water for SUPERBASE and the behaviour shifts again. Mix in pigments, acrylic mediums, or anything else you're curious about. Try painting with it, casting it into moulds, building relief textures, making flexible forms, or using it as a surface coating.
Your experiments will decide whether this becomes a full range or remains one of the strangest things we've ever made.
